Today we got up bright and early to see the Lady Chargers off to Murfreesboro. We had to see Molly to wish her good luck before she left. So if you are reading this Molly, GOOD LUCK! We love you and will be listening to the radio tonight and the nights to come! Have fun!!!!

We are ADOPTIVE parents and are loveing every minute
I stole this from a friend's blog! This is too cute not to post!
You Know You're An Adoptive Parent IF...
1. The fact that there are 147 million children without a parent to kiss them goodnight has made you lose sleep.
2. You realize DNA has nothing to do with love & family.
3. You can't watch Adoption Stories on TLC without tears.
4. The fact that, if just 7% of Christians adopted 1 child there would be no orphans in the world, is convicting to you.
5. You spend free time surfing blogs about families who've experienced the blessing of adoption.
6. It drives you crazy when people ask you about adopted child's "real" parents.
7. You were "pregnant" with your adoptive child longer than it takes an elephant to give birth.
8. You'd no idea how you'd afford to adopt, but stepped out in faith anyway, knowing he'd provide.
9. You've taken an airplane half-way around the world to meet your child.
10. You believe God's heart is for adoption.
11. You realize that welcoming a child into your heart & family is one of the most important legacies you could ever leave on this earth.
12. You know what the word "Dossier" means & you can actually pronounce it correctly!
13. You've welcomed a social worker into the most private parts of your life.
14. You shudder when people say your child's so lucky that you adopted them, knowing full well you're the blessed one to have him or her in your life.

Fun Times
Some of my greatest memories as a child was those spent with my Nanny and Pawpaw! I remember Nanny hanging clothes out on the clothes line in the summer and I loved running through them. They smelled so good and were cool so it felt good. I loved riding my bike all over their big yard, helping nanny in her garden, or just relaxing. Seems like now, life is so busy, we forget about the simple things in life that makes you feel good on the inside. This past weekend, we went to Nanny and Pawpaw's and I remembered all the good times that was spent there. As usual they were planing veggies in their garden, working in the flower beds, etc. Ema has such a good time there. She runs a plays and keeps everyone laughing.

Happy Mother's Day
This Mother's Day was a little different for me for many reasons. I have two special people in my life that make mothers day mean a little more to me than it usually would. Don't get me wrong I had a wonderful day but this year I had two other people on my mind throughout the day. First, I thought of Ema's biological mother a lot. I thought about how she was a very selfless person and how she gave me the greatest gift.....Ema. I don't know if they celebrate mother's day in Vietnam but I couldn't help but wonder if she thought of Ema today. I am committing myself to pray for her daily. I pray that the God of peace and understanding will give just that. I pray that somehow she know that Ema is loved beyond her comprehension. I pray that God will give her peace about the decision that she made to allow Ema to be adopted. I don't know if we will ever know her or if Ema will ever be able to meet her but she is a very special person to us!
Second,I thought of my Amy! God love her, mother's day will always be hard for her! We miss Dayton so much and mother's day really hits hard. Amy, if you are reading this, We love you and you know we pray for you daily and I personally find it exciting to see both you and Chris staying so strong when I think I would fall apart. You were a WONDERFUL mother to Dayton! Thank you for letting us be his God parents and for all the good memories that we share!
OK, now I have to give Kirk and Ema credit because they surprised me this year with two beautiful white rocking chairs for my front porch. I love sitting on our front porch watching the golfers play and waving at the people driving by. Kirk always said he likes the back porch better but Saturday he got up a little earlier than I did and I couldn't find him. He was rocking and drinking coffee. :) We visited with family on Mothers Day and then spent the rest of the day together. It was a great day! Thank you Kirk and Ema for making Mother's Day such a great day for me.

Oh, my sweet little Ema
Today I was doing the usual, cooking dinner, cleaning, etc and I heard Ema in her room talking up a storm. I glanced in and this is what I saw......(Ms. Pat if the last post made you laugh you better get ready)
I am not real sure why the chef's hat, high heel shoes, and the iron but that's My sweet little Ema's imagination! It always keeps us wondering!

Ema's Birthday Tree
Every year we have to get a picture of Ema beside this tree. Our neighborhood gave us this tree on Ema's birthday during the long wait of our adoption. Ema calls this her birthday tree and was SO dissapointed when the pink flowers fell off. Jan Hensley, how dare you get us a tree that doesn't bloom all year. Ema cried for atleast an hour when she saw that there were no more flowers! :)
